Meet William Leonard

William Leonard is a founder and senior financial consultant at Leonard Advisory Group. He has 19 years’ experience in the insurance and annuity industry and holds his insurance license in the state of Pennsylvania.

Bill got into the business when he became responsible for his mother’s finances and income plan. The frustrations he experienced in the process, including a lack of service and conservative options, motivated Bill to take the lessons he had learned to help other families in need.

Bill started his career in the financial service industry in 1996. Since that time, he has worked in a variety of capacities, gaining valuable experience with insurance.

In 2007, Bill became an independent consultant, focusing on income protection and retirement planning. His team includes Joshua Leonard, and Angela Ferrante. Joshua holds his 65 license and insurance licenses in Pennsylvania and Ohio, and Angela holds her Series 6, Series 7, Series 24, Series 63 and state insurance licenses in both Pennsylvania and Ohio. Bill and Angela have been working together for many years, and their experience allows them to offer clients a variety of financial strategies and recommendations.

As an indepedent consultant, Bill was honorary host of the “Protecting Your Profits” radio show on 94.5 3WS Pittsburgh and a weekly guest on the nationally broadcasted “Financial Safari” radio show heard locally on NewsTalk 104.7 FM. He has also been featured on WISR 680 AM and WORD FM.

Bill speaks publicly on a variety of financial topics, including Social Security benefits, estate planning, wealth preservation and income strategies. As a leading independent advisor, he has helped thousands of retirees and pre-retirees face the financial challenges that lie ahead with confidence.

In his free time, Bill enjoys traveling, boating, skiing, hiking, biking, restoring antique vehicles and spending quality time with family, friends and clients. He has been married to his wife, Cindy, for 33 years. They have three children: Zach, Josh and Zoey, as well as a crazy border collie named Sweep.


 

Josh Leonard

Vice President

Josh started his career in financial consulting as an intern at Northwestern Mutual in Cleveland. He graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio with a degree in Finance and Political Science. During his college career he also spent a semester at the Hong Kong Baptist University in Hong Kong studying the financial and political system.

Josh has been featured on the "Protecting Your Profits" Radio Show as a guest speaker, teaches retirement seminars, and is a regular contributor to several insurance and retirement blogs.

Josh works with clients to identify their financial security needs and then focuses on solutions that can help make those financial goals a reality. By using several tools and strategies he is able to achieve optimal results in complex situations. He holds a Series 65 and life insurance licenses.  Josh's licenses enable him to act as a fiduciary; the highest standard of care for his clients.

Josh enjoys spending his free time with his wife Yana, son Eli, dog Layla, family and friends. He enjoys boating, hiking, biking, running, skiing and traveling.


 

Angela Ferrante

Investment Advisor

Angela is a 1987 graduate of Allegheny College with a degree in Economics and Finance.

She started with Equitable Life as an insurance representative 2 weeks after graduation selling life and disability insurance to the medical community.

In 1989, she became licensed to complete financial plans, investment advisory services and securities transactions for clients and did this through 1993.

In 1994 Angela joined New England Financial as the Investment Specialist. She was integral in growing the securities side of the business from $10million under management to well over $250 million under management. In 2001 she passed the securities supervisors exam and had Agency Compliance Officer added to her duties. She was one of 3 people in the history of the company to receive a perfect score on the agency compliance audit. By 2005 she was supervising 165 representatives in 4 states and running the brokerage side of the office which included opening of accounts, research, trade placement, cashiering of upwards of $2million per month, as well as handling her own client base.

In 2007 she took a job as Chief Compliance Officer and Investment Specialist for Securian Financial’s Pittsburgh Office and again had a perfect compliance review while processing $2 to $3 million per month in new business.

In 2009 she chose to go back to personal production with Bill as the groups client investment advisor and financial planner.

Angela and Mark live in Somerset County where she enjoys skiing, hiking, biking and gardening.
